This is from the rough draft of the Pathfinder Renown system which could be the basis of the Intrigue system for Kaernest System.

What Is It?[]

Renown is basically a measure of how well known you are. It's a number from -12 to 12 and starts at 0.
Doing brave, impressive, dastardly, or nasty things can add to, or reduce your rep and therefore, your renown.

What's Rep?[]

Rep is how to gain more (or less) renown. Rep is a lot easier to move. It's a number from -6 to 6 that works similarly to renown, but this is the smaller part that gets moved by your immediate actions (when there's witnesses, or evidence of your actions). It only moves up to 6 steps based on any given action. Saving a child from a burning building will probably get you 4 rep. Killing an innocent bystander (even accidentally) will probably get you -4 rep. Saving a group of people from a burning building will probably get you 6 rep. Any time your rep hits or exceeds 6, your renown goes up 1, and your rep resets to 0. Any time your rep drops below or hits -6, your renown goes down 1, and your rep resets to 0.

Where Am I?[]

It's location-based, so the further you are from your "home base", the less your Renown can help (or hinder). Every 100 miles you are from home, your Renown is treated as one step closer to 0.
When you're in your home/headquarters, your renown is treated as if it were 2 steps further from 0.
Even if you're next-door, if you're outside of home country, your Renown is treated as one step closer to 0. This is cumulative with the distance modifier.

Who Am I?[]

As a rule of thumb, with a low renown, people may have heard of you. That might be it; they heard your name once and it stuck in their head. Once your renown increases (or decreases) past X (+/-3?) people start knowing/remembering some of your actions as well; your primary edict gets associated with your name.

What Does Renown Do?[]

When making a Charisma check, you can spend 1 rep to gain a bonus to that Charisma check equal to half of your current Renown. Depending on your primary edict, and if your Renown is positive or negative, and the skill being used, the bonus may be a plus or a negative.
